Under the chairmanship of Principal Dr. Santosh Kumar Parida, DIET, Ganjam, Khallikote celebrated National Science Day with great enthusiasm and academic spirit.
This year’s theme, “Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat,” highlighted the vital role of women scientists in nation-building and scientific advancement.
On this occasion, the Science-based Wall Magazine “ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ” was inaugurated, showcasing students’ innovative ideas, articles, and creative expressions related to scientific concepts and discoveries.
The programme was graced by the Chief Guest-cum-Keynote Speaker, Dr. Devi Shankar Suman, an eminent Indian scientist and internationally recognized expert in vector biology, currently serving as Scientist–E at the Zoological Survey of India, Estuarine Biology Regional Centre, Gopalpur-on-Sea, Odisha. He delivered an informative presentation on mosquitoes, explaining their biology, their role as vectors of diseases, and the importance of scientific research in controlling mosquito-borne illnesses.
The programme was honoured by the presence of the Guest of Honour, Dr. Sankar Narayan Beja, BEO, Digapahandi and District Coordinator, Eco Club, Ganjam, who emphasized the need to promote scientific awareness and environmental responsibility among students.
